Our story

From our kitchen to your pup

It started with one very good girl. Mishka is my Belgian Shepherd, my official taste tester, and the reason this bakery exists.

  2. 2

    The search

Store shelves were full of long ingredient lists I couldn't pronounce. Nothing felt right.

  3. 3

    Baking at home

  4. 4

    Making it official

Registered with the Ohio Department of Agriculture before a single sale.

    Sharing the love

Now baking for local dog families across Kent and Akron.

FAQ

Questions from fellow dog parents

Where do you deliver?

I offer pickup and local delivery around Kent and Akron. Treats are baked fresh without artificial preservatives, so I don't ship them.

How long do the treats stay fresh?

Store them in a cool, dry place and reseal the bag after opening. They're best within 30 days.

Is peanut butter safe for dogs?

Plain peanut butter is a favorite for most dogs, but some brands contain xylitol, a sweetener that's toxic to dogs. I only use unsweetened, xylitol-free peanut butter. If your pup has allergies or a sensitive stomach, check with your vet before trying any new treat.

Are homemade dog treats legal to sell in Ohio?

Only when they're registered. Ohio's Cottage Food Law covers people food, not pet treats. Mishka's Kitchen is registered with the Ohio Department of Agriculture, and every bag carries a compliant label.
